Here are Some Christmas Cards

Here are some Christmas cards that I have been making. Several of them are from Stampin Up's card kit for November. I love that they are making a card kit for each month. That's so cool!

Also, you can see a card I made from the new quickutz jolly set. Love that set. Alphabet and shapes are all great. I basically scraplifted that card from the quickutz site, but changed the paper.

New Folded Card

Here is a card that I made similar to the way Jennifer McGuire described it in her recent blog entry.

This picture is of the card closed.

Here is a picture of the card open.

It is hard to tell from the picture, but the scalloped circle on the outside fits right over the scalloped circle on the inside. I really like this design! Thanks Jennifer.

New Christmas Card

Here's another card inspired by Jennifer McGuire. I love these cute Christmas stamps from Hero Arts.

Both of these cards are about 3 inches in diameter and has a scalloped circle as an outside edge. It opens to a blank inside so you can write your own message. It might be used as more of a gift tag or a short message? Cute I think!

Today we went to the pumpkin patch so Andrew could pick out a pumpkin for himself and the baby. It was a bit too sunny for him, so he closed his eyes a bit, but still looks cute!

Here's a Christmas Card

Just thought I'd share a Christmas card I made using an idea I got from Jennifer McGuire's blog. I like the way these cards open. You can't tell it so much from my card because this is a picture of the card closed, but I still like the way it turned out.

I guess it's time to start thinking about making Christmas cards since the baby will be born so close to Christmas - I might not have time later. I'm thinking about making a baby announcement and a Christmas card to put in one envelope : )

I'm Making Cards for Card Sketch A Day

Yipee, I finally am going to get my cards up someplace besides my own blog. Susie Q Scrapbook is starting a Card Sketch a Day Blog, and I'm making three cards for it. The first one will debut on Sept 11.

Here is a link to her blog.

http://cardsketchaday.blogspot.com/

In other news, we started back to school. As every year begins, I have mixed feelings about going back to school. I like meeting my students and getting back to a routine, but I also feel sad that summer is over. My unlimited time with Andrew is over, and we have to get back to business. His biggest hurdle right now is being able to do 100 addition facts in 5 minutes. That's a lot for a 2nd grader! We'll keep working on it though.

But, this year is especially exciting, because in just 18 weeks we'll have a new little person joining our lives :) What could be more exciting than that.

New Card From Picture It Made

Well, as you can see, I really haven't been keeping up with my blogging!
Here is a new card I made for a friend whose father died. This card uses supplies from a Picture It Made Card Kit.
I also used a new cuttlebug embossing template for the edge embossing on the right. The "stems" of the flowers are made from Quickutz Flourishes. I think it turned out pretty cute :)
Well, it's almost time for Back to School. I start with a meeting today!! Aaargh -- it seems like Aug 11 is too early for Back to School.
But, speaking of August 11, the new Stampin Up Catalog comes out today. Can't wait to see what goodies will be in that! On second thought, maybe it is a good thing I'm going back to school so I'll have money to buy things!

New Cards Using Cuttlebug and Cricut

Hi there,

It was a rainy morning here in Illinois, so I experimented and made a couple of new cards. The top one is embossed using the Cuttlebug. For the bottom one, I used Design Studio and the Cricut to cut out tiny squares at the bottom of the card. (design courtesy of Susan Blue Robot).

Thanks for looking!

Finally Some New Cards

Well, I had a doctor's appointment this morning and he said everything looked fine with the baby. I was happy to be able to hear the heart beating. He said I should start to feel like I have more energy soon. So, I decided to test things out this afternoon, and I actually got some cards made!!

Here's a peek!

These cards are for sale in my etsy store, along with other cute things! Check it out.

Scrap Room Kits FS

Hi,

I have several kits from The Scrap Room FS.

They include:

April 2008 - Cosmo Cricket Get Happy
April 2008 - SEI Dill Blossom (I'll include the rubons that came in the embellishment kit)
May 2008 - Basic Grey Sugared (I'll include the alphabet that came in the embellishment kit)
May 2008 - Crate Paper Blue Hill
June 2008 - Bo Bunny Teen Chic

I'd like $5 for each of these kits except for the Basic Grey Sugared and the SEI Dill Blossom. I'd like $6 per kit for those.

$5 for shipping one kit, $6 for two kits, $7 for three or four kits. If you'd like all 5 kits, only $5 shipping total.

If you'd like to see the actual kits, visit www.scrap-room.com

Thanks,
Jennifer

Wow, Long Time, No Post!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long! A lot has been going on in our lives.

We found out a couple of days after my last post that I am pregnant. We are overjoyed, but being cautious. It's early yet, so we want to be happy, but not get our hopes too high.

So, I haven't been doing much scrapbooking because I am SOOOOO tired. I forgot how much pregnancy takes out of you. I am glad it will be summer soon.

I guess the only other thing to say today is that I have one auction up on ebay for some Cards Magazines and Scrapbook Trends magazines. See here:

Other than that, I'm going to take a nap :)

More Cards From a Picture It Made Kit

I am loving these kits! There is just enough to work with, but enough to make a bunch of cards!

Look to the left for my three newest creations!
I especially like the butterflies. They are made using a die for the QK Revolution.
These cards are available for purchase in my etsy store: http://scrappincreations.etsy.com
Thanks for checking out my work!

New Picture It Made Kit Up

Hi there,

The new picture it made card making kit is up! It looks great.

I'm going to order one. When I get it and make some cards from it, I will share them here! If you want to order one too, go to http://www.pictureitmade.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=268

I'm disappointed that I didn't make the Sketch This Cards team, but I'm sure that the ladies that did make it are very talented. I'll keep watching the site. I love the inspiration that I have found there so far.

It's so nice in Illinois today!

Can't wait till the weekend.

Entry for Sketch This Cards Design Team Call

While I was visiting the Picture It Made Blog, I found this great blog that has all these card sketches on it. The blog is called Sketch This - Cards( http://janellerichmond.typepad.com/sketchthiscards ). They were having a design team call - just up my alley.

To the left, find my submission based on the sketch that was provided.
Also, I wanted to let everyone know that I drew the name for the small RAK that I had on my blog last weekend, and AMY won!!! So, Amy if you read this, let me know your address, and I will get it right out to you.
Have a great day!!

Cards Made From Picture It Made Kit

Hi there,
During Willow Traders big 3rd anniversary celebration, I won the Spring Cheer Card Kit from Picture It Made ( http://www.pictureitmade.com/ ). I wanted to share all of the great cards that I was able to make from this kit. I still have enough left to make several more cards!
(by the way, this set of cards is available for sale in my etsy store: http://scrappincreations.etsy.com

As part of the kit, there was a Imaginesce Stamp - the Chick - from the For Peep's Sake collection. I already had this chick, so I'd like to RAK the stamp I got in the kit to someone.

Just leave a comment on this blog sometime this weekend (before midnight on Monday morning), and I'll choose someone to RAK the stamp too. Thanks for checking out my work!

I am excited that a scrapbook page of mine got put up on a new blog yesterday.
Great idea for a blog, Annette!

I made it using Cricut Design Studio - here is a link to the blog where I found the file:

As Long as I was At It

I thought I'd post a layout I made today from our trip.

The date stamp in the bottom right corner was made by a member of Willow Traders named Tara.

It is GREAT!!

New Stampin Up Card and a Quote

Here's a card I made from a new set of Stampin Up Stamps - it is from the set Friendship Blooms, a Sale A Bration set.

Here's a quote from a Stampin Up Stamp that I thought was funny:

If at first you do succeed, try not to look astonished!

Happy 90th Birthday and Other Things

Hi again,

Today is my Grandma's 90th birthday. Wow, I can't believe it. We are going out to lunch to celebrate and then hopefully Andrew will be able to have an Easter Egg Hunt at her house.

He's so good when he has to deal with all adults as he often does at family parties here.

Here's a page I made using the Zany Zinnia( http://www.zanyzinnia.com/ )March Kit Spring Break.

Can't believe it's been 20 years since I graduated high school. But, Kathy and I have remained friends through it ALL. Husbands, kids, a different husband...

Yipee, Spring Break

You can't really understand how much you need spring break unless you're a teacher. It's a great time of year! But if there was no spring break...well who knows what could happen!

Here's a page I did of my new niece!

Also, I have these cute new penguin magnets up for sale in my etsy store. Check them out!

I Have a New Niece!

My sister had a baby yesterday morning. Her name is Kathryn! I'm so luck to be an aunt to now three great kids! The older two (Ross and Emily) seem to be excited about the baby. I wish I could be there, but they live so far away!!

By the way, Happy Easter everyone! I am so lucky to be starting spring break tomorrow. We are going to have a great time with days off and visiting my friend Carolyn and her family in Tennessee.

So, I wanted to share with you Andrew's plan for our scrapbook store. He says that we should have our store in our basement. He has a plan for everyone in our family. I would check people out, he would call places to order more scrapbook stuff, and Mark - well - he would be the janitor. Nice, huh?? It's nice that he wanted to include everyone. He even says that he would let kids play with some of his toys while their mom's shopped. Hee Hee.

It's a Great Day in Illinois!

Hi there, it's a great day here in Illinois today. Okay, really it's a little overcast and kind of rainy, but my Illini won last night to make it one step closer to winning the Big Ten Tournament. I have to admit, I didn't have too high of hopes this year, as they haven't played well all year. But, maybe things are coming together!

I have Andrew all excited about it too! He says he would like to go to Illini College when he gets old enough. If he only knew how excited and happy that would make me and his Grandpa too.

So, finally I have time to scrapbook today. Hope to get a couple of pages or at least a card or two done. I'll post later if I have something to show for my efforts today.

Phew, what a Day!

Just got home from the annual Children's Carnival at the school where I work. It is a fun time, but exhausting too. We invited kindergarten and first graders from the school where my son attends. He had a GREAT time. I can't believe that I didn't take ANY pictures. Oh well, it's hard to take pictures and work at the same time.

All the same, here's a page I did recently.

Sure Looking Forward to the Weekend

Well, it's almost time for the weekend! I hope I can get some scrapbooking done this weekend. I'm sure looking forward to the Daily Dose class opening today at Willow Traders and also seeing the first sketch tomorrow.

Here's my first layout with the sketch from the class.

Wow, What A Week!

So, we are doing well here - trying to clean things up a little bit. Mark is finally almost ready to sell his house. We met with our favorite realtor today - Cheryl. She seems to think the house has potential and should sell rather quickly. Who knows though with today's market.

I have been making cards this afternoon. Sometimes that's what I feel like doing. Carolyn talked me into !! ordering some more things from Stampin Up, so I feel like I better use some of the things I have.

I attended part of Marian Catholic High School's Operation Snowball this weekend. The kids were great and I think they had fun. I feel like the time I spent as Director of our Operation Snowball is one of the biggest contributions I have made to Marian.

Things are Breaking All Over the Place!

AAARGH, First it was my cricut that stopped working, and now the microwave went kaput. Right in the middle of popping popcorn. How weird. It just stopped, no warning, just an I'm tired that's it for me.

The news on my cricut is that they will send me a refurbished cricut for $50. I decided to put the $50 to better use and bought a new Cricut Expressions. I have been wanting one anyway, so now was the time. It is nice! It has lots of new features that I don't even know how to use yet!

Here's a new page of my niece Emily. I used TLC paper which I have had sitting around for awhile. I like how it turned out.

So Frustrated

AAARGH. I've been having a problem with my Cricut for the last few days. I haven't been able to cut ANYTHING since Sunday when I was trying to use the Design Studio and then it stopped cutting. The maching goes through the motions of cutting, but isn't cutting through the paper. I've been trying to get through to customer service by email and by phone, but have had no luck. I hope I can get things fixed soon! DH Mark says I can get the new Expressions if I can't get this one fixed, which I appreciate, but I just want to be able to cut again!

Here's a valentine mini-album I made for my DH. Sh...don't tell him!

I Won!!

I can't believe that I won a free pass to the Double Dutch Daily Dose Class at Willow traders. It is a class that is designed by SusieQScrapbook. It is an online class that is going on through the month of March. She is a great designer and I'm really inspired to scrapbook when I use her sketches. If you'd like to check it out, go to the Willow Traders website - link to the left!

Here are a couple more pages that I have been making lately.

By the way, do you love Stampin Up? If so, my friend Carolyn McCaughey sells Stampin Up. You should check out their new catalog at http://www.stampinup.com/

I'm thinking of getting the Scallop Circle punch along with a couple of other sets so I can take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration sale going on now.

Feb 2, 2008

I'm new to writing blogs, but I'd like to get some of my creations up on the web, so I'm going to try this out. Eventually, I'd like to have some contests here, and give away some scrapbook supplies!

I was so disappointed this last week to find that my LSS - Scrap N Crazy -http://web.mac.com/scrapncrazy/iWeb/Scrap-n-Crazy/Welcome.html- in Bradley, Illinois, was going to close. I was just starting to design some things for them, and now they're closing!
Best of luck to those ladies, they were great.

Here are a couple of my recent pages:
